Food Storage

Most, if not all homes have what one would refer to as a pantry. This pantry is where most folks keep the foodstuffs of the household. But, the problem with many is that the pantry and or overall space for storing foodstuffs is limited, therefore many opportunities for taking advantage of a possible store sale is not the money spent factor, it is the food storage area factor. Basically, many people simply do not have the storage space to use in order to take advantage of the potential cost savings sales. Therefore, many only purchase what they need at the present, thus letting a savings slip right through their fingers.

But, there are alternatives. Many different manufacturers make and market many different shapes and sizes containers that can aid in this dilemma and thus, contribute to the solving of this problem. However, will people organize, the pantry in this case, probably not. People have a tendency to resist change. This contributes to this lack of savings element.

However, if they were disciplined enough to be organized, then this situation and or problem could and can be solved. Basically, it is not so much as a money situation as it is a laziness or lack of motivation problem. Of course everyone does not fall into this category. Some simply do not have the space even if they have organized as much as possible. What do they do then? Well, there basically isn't much that can aid that specific situation.

Of course, short of moving to a larger home, which usually is not an option for most, this situation, and the possible cost savings is all for nil. Although, there is one place that could have the potential for storage that most would not even consider. And, that is under a bed.

Being able to take advantage of the bulk food situation, then the savings in foodstuffs is tremendous. Freeze dried and canned food will last a very long time and can have a shelf life of anywhere from a few years to tens of years.

Lets consider this under the bed storage area for a moment. Bagged foods would be somewhat of a problem since the bags can easily be gotten into by rodents and insects. However, canned goods would be quite safe. This would be the ideal place to store such items. Therefore, when sales are taking place at various stores, consider this as an opportunity to stock the cupboards, or in this case, under the bed. The name of the game is saving money and cutting costs wherever possible. And, although storing food under the bed is a bit unorthodox, it is however, a viable and probable solution to food storage area concerns.
